The core of VAN: If you have certain assets or behaviors that violate regulations, then Meta will evaluate whether your other assets also have problems, and seriously “implicated”. There is a policy statement that “you must not show behaviors similar to business assets that we have disabled”. This is actually a flexible policy. For example, recently everyone has encountered a lot of “due to the use of batch tool operations” violation account closures. Even if you don’t really use third-party tools, API batch operations are also pulled out and blocked. This should be based on this policy. Maybe you just operate too fast or upload too much at one time.
To put it another way (unofficial, only guesswork), if most of your assets are “safe” + “clean”, is it possible that because of my excellent record, it is not easy to be identified as a violation by the policy. And even if you have some illegal operations, but you are extremely restrained, can you escape the disaster?
In response to the above-mentioned illegal policies, I have also made some interpretations of circumvention ideas: Meta policy related – VAN association policy (account closure)

Summary of ideas: 1. The account opening subject of a single product should be consistent with BM. The Pages used for product launch should not be mixed, and one Page should not be launched in multiple products. Some friends here may have mixed use of Pages when there are many products, or the product needs to open multiple accounts due to rapid volume, but 7 or 30 accounts under one subject are not enough. At this time, multiple subjects will be used to open accounts, and if you are not careful, they may be linked together. The behavior of opening multiple subjects for one product should be very easy to be caught.

  1. Don’t buy personal accounts. There is no way to know whether the personal accounts you buy have violated the rules, and there are some risks of theft when buying accounts. According to the policy, you may also be able to apply this violation “You must not show behavior similar to our disabled business assets.” It is safer to register a Facebook account with real personal information and maintain the account for a period of time before using it.
  2. During the delivery process, follow the strict policy compliance requirements, deliver clean materials, and appeal and modify in time if you encounter violations. Do not delete directly. Deleting the advertisement directly without a successful appeal will result in violation points for the personal account (in serious cases, Meta policy will deactivate your Facebook account, public page or group, or your Instagram account). The policy performance of violation points is that the advertisements sent out by some accounts are more likely to be judged as violations, and the accounts and pages used are also more likely to be blocked.
    Meta’s expected normal customer general operation: We follow the normal novice customer, when he gets a serious product, such as a small game to deliver advertisements, how should he usually deal with it:
  3. Take your real personal Facebook account, use your own registered company, complete BM certification, and use this company to apply for account opening and delivery. 2. Due to the lack of proficiency in delivery technology, he will only open 1-2 accounts and deliver very few campaigns, and not make many advertising materials. Due to the lack of proficiency in operation, he directly delivers 3A advertisements (default recommendation) 3. During the delivery process, due to the lack of proficiency in operation, the price budget may not be adjusted frequently for a long time.

According to the idea of ​​a normal experienced company, when a new product is obtained, how will it usually be operated:

  1. After obtaining a new product, directly use the main body and BM that have been running stably before to open 2-3 accounts, and register a single page. It will not be launched with multiple pages, nor will it use the previous page to open an account. 2. Skilled operators directly upload several advertising campaigns, but will not pile up a large budget at once in the early stage. Instead, they will first explore and observe for half a month or at least 1 week. During this stage, the budget is not large, and there will not be too many materials. The main purpose is to observe the data performance. 3. After the data is stable, start to add accounts, increase campaigns and advertising material creativity, and steadily increase the budget.
    The focus of experienced operators is to open an account directly according to the BM and main body that have been running stably before, and generally operate with a single personal account (will use a new main body + BM to launch again, but it is not ruled out, and many large companies operate in this way).
    Some existing cases of illegal operations: 1. The product itself is a category of illegal operations. 2. I violated the rules before, but I did not change the BM, main body, personal account, etc. and directly opened a new account, which was continuously blocked. 3. Multiple products, mixed use of Page, main body, BM. 4. After the product is launched, it is released in large quantities with API at one time + obviously launched in a wave of operations, and the budget is fully utilized.
  2. All personal accounts are purchased, or other personal accounts in BM are seriously associated with VAN. 6. Personal accounts are blocked, and they continue to use new accounts, which is more diligent than changing socks.
    And so on…
    So if we want to prevent being associated with Facebook’s VAN, should we focus on whether our normal operations are in line with the reasonable operation habits recognized by Meta?
    Suggested operation: If it is an old team, and there are “safe” products + personal accounts in the existing products, then the next “safe” new products can be directly opened under this safe main body + BM, and strictly comply with the compliance process.
    If it is an old team that has been blocked, either give up and fight to the end, or avoid the current APP being marked by W2A, etc., or consider that the new products in the future have been completely clean according to the process of a completely new team + new products, and run steadily according to the suggestions of the new team. Do not associate with any previous products, BM, page, etc. (for example, simply find a new optimizer, an old account from a big company that has run clean products, to manage the entire new product launch). If conditions permit, let him not use the company’s wifi, especially the one with one IP exit for the entire company.

Maintain an account, have clean products, BM, and the people who launch a single product business will definitely not change frequently (but new personnel can be added). Put your new account in a sufficiently safe product to run for a period of time, and take it out when you need it (withdraw the old clean product assets) to create a new product, and continue to operate according to the new team’s model. Understand it as an honest person in a big company who has started a business and joined a new team to do new business.
For materials, even if they are the same type of products, we also use programmatic means to process them separately each time they are uploaded to avoid being associated with materials (materials are also assets).

If there have been serious violations in the account, do not continue to violate the rules, and do not touch new products (to avoid involving new products). According to the official policy, advertisers are not allowed to have the following behaviors: manage business assets associated with other illegal business assets + show similar behaviors to other business assets that we have banned. If there is a violation, if you think there is no hope, simply do not keep these assets, or new assets should not appear in this personal account/BM, entity, etc.
Recent violation observations: In fact, from the perspective of the products that have been blocked recently, the most important account closure is still high-risk products, especially product categories that are particularly easy to be reported. In the past, the main processing was Page closure, and the account was still there. Recently, Meta has been upgraded to VAN-related account closure, and because of the associated products dug out by the policy, accounts of the same product and the same entity are more likely to be associated and blocked.
There are also technical solutions: 1. Isolate all assets, including personal accounts. Technically, through API operations, the placement of a single customer is operated by the same person’s personal account, and all are under the same subject. (Agency BM is not affected, the use of PABM). Note that API operation is not the real reason for being blocked. The reason for being blocked is because of the associated account. It is really okay to use API reasonably. Illegal products may be associated with API. If you are afraid, do it manually first. 2. Material association. Through technical means, each time you upload an advertisement, the program will process the material separately, so that Meta will become new when judging the material hash.
